Art Maui has been running for over 30 years, and first went online in the 1990s. The website design hadn’t changed much in that time, and it was time for a new look.
The board wanted the home page to feature the current publicity image, and wanted it to be easier to find things. I wanted to preserve the history and retain the wealth of information that had accumulated, so I broke it out into smaller pieces and created new ways of accessing it through menus, categories, and a search box. The galleries of work for each year feature a lightbox display, rather than going to a new window for each image. We kept the logo that they had been using, but put it in a new header image.
